Welcome to the Safe Church training for volunteers, lay preachers and lay workers!

This course combining Safe Church Introduction and Safe Church Foundations  covers the basic requirements for lay people, volunteers and lay preachers. 

By completing this course, you will gain an understanding of:

• Have a basic understanding of what Creating a Safe Church means and how it fits with our mission and values
• Be introduced to the concept of 'Shared Guardianship' and your role to support it
• Have a basic understanding of maintaining boundaries and what to do if someone is violating those boundaries.
• The definitions of child abuse and neglect
• Recognising indicators of abuse, neglect and boundary violations, and
• Your role in responding to abuse and neglect.
